Event Details

Last year the Commonwealth of Virginia spent more than $6B on various goods and services. A very significant amount was spent on food for concessions, catering, etc.

Virginia has a set-aside program (SWaM) for Small businesses, Women owned businesses, and Minority owned businesses. Every state agency (including colleges and universities) is encouraged to use SWaM certified firms. In fact, practically all catering events go to SWaM certified businesses and can be awarded without competition.

At this workshop, you will learn about SWaM and Micro business certifications and how they can give you a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The SWaM / Micro certification process is simple, but necessary if you want to grow your business with the Commonwealth!
