Are you interested in becoming certified as a small, women and minority (SWaM) business? If you own and manage a small, women-owned, or a minority-owned business for-profit business and want to increase sales with the Commonwealth of Virginia, then you need to get SWaM’d!
SWaM (Small, Women, and Minority owned firms) certification is one of the most powerful business tools you can use to grow your sales among state agencies, public colleges and universities, local municipalities, and private sector firms that utilize the SWaM database. Last year, the Commonwealth of Virginia spent more than $6 Billion on goods and services.
If you are interested in applying for SWaM Certification, this “Hands On” application session is for NEW and RE-CERTIFYING applicants. You must be an established “for-profit” business to apply. SBSD staff will be on-site to provide assistance with creating account, scanning required documents or answer questions during the application process. Once submitted, application processing time takes a minimum of 60 BUSINESS days.
Please bring your laptops with REQUIRED docs saved or on flash drive. Document scanning assistance will also be available on-site
