Certification

Virginia’s business certification programs including; Small, Women, and Minority-owned businesses (SWaM), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Service-Disabled Veteran-owned businesses (SDV), and Employment Services Organization (ESO).

VSBFA offers programs to provide businesses, not-for-profits, and economic development authorities with the financing needed for economic growth and expansion throughout the Commonwealth.

Supporting economic development by working with businesses across the Commonwealth, offering a variety of business development workshops, trainings, webinars, and one-on-one business counseling sessions.

Collecting and analyzing data to support SWaM goals. This division also facilitates the sourcing of certified small businesses, expanding their growth and development in the Commonwealth.

Our Mission

The mission of the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) is to enhance growth opportunities for Virginia’s small businesses to prosper through increased revenue and job creation, thereby raising the standard of living for all Virginians.

 

We strive to accomplish this mission by offering businesses opportunities for certification, financing, and business development.

 

With small businesses being the heart of our Commonwealth and it’s economy, it is our passion and goal to help Virginia businesses thrive.
